A lot of people don’t understand the work that goes into brand and commercial photography. Brand photos are completely different process than what would seem. Typical sessions with families are get scheduled, meet and photograph the session, then I go and do a lot of work on the back end after the session! Branding sessions have a lot more in-depth details that are involved pre and post arrival of your items. Here is a step by step process of commercial photography, and the process I use to deliver your pretty photos!
1. Show you different packages that match your current needs.
I offer different packages because all brands are different and have different goals in mind. I take that into deep consideration.
2. Sign contract. Makes it easy to go back and refer to what you need and what I need!
3. Send a questionnaire to get your vision with exactness!
I’ll ask you everything from models you want, location options, to even getting a Pinterest inspo idea board from you! Your brand is YOUR baby, and I want to ensure you get all you need in every session. For example, If you need or request certain items like more flat lays or maybe you seem to like plain paper backgrounds with models! I also love to ensure your branding vibe fits perfectly with your images!
4. Plan plan plan! This is what I mean when I say there is a lot involved pre photographed session. I find and schedule models based on the particulars you need, I research and book studios (if applicable), I purchase flat lay product if needed, I work through my creative mental toolbox to align and use all the tools I have accumulated over time and get real specific with your needs, etc, etc!
5. Unbox and steam product! This is probably the MOST IMPORTANT and underrated step! For me, it takes the items to the next level, and It does make a difference in the images
6. I sort product into different baskets so each model has their own and everything stays organized pre photoshoot!
7. I then shoot flat lays & Product photos if that is what you requested or need!
8. Photoshoot Day: shoot your product with the cutest models around
9. Make Reels! I love this option because it tremendously boosts your sales for your socials and they are so fun to make!
10. Cull the images, EDIT perfectly to your design and needs (Which is why I offer two different editing styles, check out the blog post HERE for more info on this), and save your photos!
11. Upload your pictures to my gallery website and send your gallery and reels!
12. Save all images again to an external hard drive just in case! You can never be too safe when it comes to keeping images safe for the future!
And that about sums it up! There’s lots of little details that go in between there for each shoot, but the end result is always worth it to me and my brands!
