This blog is all about tips and tricks to get stress free photos of your little models. I love seeing my sweet models grow up as they continue to model for me and all of my brands! It can also seem stressful to get THE PERFECT shot with each little model, but is really so much fun!
I want my models to have a good time, so they want to come back, as well as getting natural candid shots for each brand shoot! Here’s some tips and tricks that can help you get stress free photos!
Getting babies that are well rested is always a wonderful idea, as well as fed before, and ready to play! No one is happy when they’re hungry or tired, especially little children!
Add neutral toys to your photos for them to play with! This is important to get good quality product shots since they’re always on the move, and then you also have HAPPY babies 😍 Perfect lifestyle play photography as well as ‘model’ sitting photography.
It give these little ones something to focus on, look at, adds movement to the photos AND you can ask them to show you (to get them to look right at ya).
Use your own kiddos! No one is more comfortable than your own kids with YOU! Sometimes too comfortable, but that’s never a bad thing when it comes to photography. I also love using my own little babies as models because I can get all sorts of content from home or close to home, without the need to take them anywhere. Use your own house or backyard ( I photograph Nixon and Reese all the time for my brands and content!). You can even use your own living room, kitchen, or get paper rolls, or set a sheet out for a white background!
Modeling is very taxing, which is why every session should end in a fun reward! A yummy treat or snack (if you’re using models for shoots bring several options for the parents to choose). Maybe you go to target or dollar store and let them pick something out at the bargain bins. Or if you are photographing your own kids you spend some quality time together coloring.
End of the day you want the session to be fun to provide more opportunities for future willingness!
